-Bring all necessary books and materials to the lesson.
-Maintain appropriate behavior in studio.
-Miss no more than three lessons in one semester.
-Fingernails must be trimmed to an appropriate length.
Dismissals
-Consistent failure to comply with the student responsibilities may result in the termination of lessons.
Final note
-Music lessons require a three way agreement between students, parents and teacher. A strong commitment of time and effort is required on the part of all three. Fulfilling this commitment is not always easy (for any of us) but the rewards in terms of musical growth and, most importantly, enjoyment, are well worth it.
-When observing your child's practice, please note that it is not always fun or pleasing to listen to. Practice oftentimes and should consist of a great deal of repetition, an annoying, incessant tick of the metronome, and loud counting.
-Playing the piano, however, is the product of practice. Playing is pleasing to listen to and is pleasurable for the student. Without proper practice true playing and learning does not occur and your child is not benefiting from lessons on any level.
